Share, Share All, Share Alike / A Recent Death

Have you ever noticed how Husbands share?? They tend to share things that no one wants. Colds, Flu, sore throats, etc. I swear the place where my hubby works is terrible. The only reason he doesn't get sick more often is because I give him the Cold and Flu Tincture everyday before work. But alas, this darling slipped through. But still all in all it hasn't been as bad as some have gotten it from what I'm told. But then there are others out there who won't take anything when they are sick, so everyone ends up getting the bug.

To me I think it's odd how some people will run to the doctor for every little ache and pain, and others stay away to their detriment. Or how some people will only go to an herbalist and others will only go to a MD. Me I fall somewhere in the middle. I will go to the MD when I have to, but most of the time I rely upon my herbs. This has served me well, for I rarely do need the doctor that bad. Like for example when I first got pregnant with my baby, my right side was hurting like all hell. I tried everything, and it kept getting worse. Finally one morning I got up and my side hurt so bad I was afraid that I might have an appendicitis. We went to the ER. Luckily it was only a urinary tract infection. The medicine from the Doctor and natural remedies eventually cleared that up. They should work together, Herbal and conventional medicine. I find the best results are obtained when they do.

Also most folks want to take one herb and get well. But the problem is that most of the time only one herb doesn't work that well. If you use a formula of herbs, then they work generally better. Each herb has a specific action, and usually several acting toward a common goal is better than relying upon only one. I find the same is true when coupled with conventional medicine. Of course you will always have to watch for interactions in both areas, but usually the two together do a better job than just one alone.

The sadist fact of it all is that both conventional medicine and herbal medicine are multi-million dollar a year businesses. And greed can cause a lot of people trouble. They get used to you coming for this and that illness and making money off that, that many don't care to see you get well. They only want to see your money rolling in. This will be the downfall of many. Both of those who act this way and those who depend upon them. It is a sorry fact, that for all of our knowledge, and understanding, money can still keep us from caring.

Yesterday was a bad day on my part. I received a shock. A Lawyer friend of mine died unexpectedly. The last thing I was expecting was an email stating that he had died. It got me to thinking about how many people in my life have been lost the last two years and a few others as well. Both of my all time best friends are gone now. My favorite Uncle, my Favorite Aunt, Another Uncle, My Grandparents [both adopted and natural], A Pastor I adored, as well as others. God knows how they are missed. All of them.
